wood pecker birds eating the side of my shingle siding house?

How do I stop the birds from making holes on my house siding. I have cedar single siding and I have woodpecker birds who keep coming and picking on the wood and making holes. Yes I know it is these birds because I have heard them from inside my house and when I go outside I see them with their beak picking on the house wood. Any suggestions because I need help fast before they destroy my home.

Be thankful for the woodpeckers. They’re alerting you to the fact that you have an insect infestation either in or under your wooden shingles. You’ll probably need to take enough of the shingles off to treat the insects and kill them.
