Can I put the spray insulation that comes in the can (great stuff) under my vinyl siding on the very bottom?

I want to put the spray foam on the very bottom of the siding where it meets the crawl space foundation to prevent drafts from the outside.There should be enough open areas in the rest of the siding to allow for some air movement to prevent any moisture. Right?
If we have very light blue vinyl siding on our home what color shingles should we put on it?
