We also have some old stain from 10 years ago the last time we did this with spots of stain on the vinyl siding. Is there anything I could use to get the stain off that won’t wreck the siding. The siding is a very light yellow color. It’s not that noticeable but it would be nice to clean it up a bit.

Knowing how to maintain a vinyl floor may not be an easy task for anyone. However, if you’re up to keeping your home’s vinyl floor in good condition, you might just be able realize the reward you can get from doing the right steps to a stain and damage free vinyl floor. Vinyl itself as a material is very durable and can withstand a long term of use. Making it as an option for flooring is a brilliant idea as it contributes in making a good home interior.

To keep your vinyl floor always looking as if it is newly purchased and attached, here are some things you might need to keep in mind.

1. Spills for a fact are very unavoidable. Same thing goes for stains. The amount of effort you may exert from cleaning will depend on how long you will let the stain stay in its place. To relieve you of this hassle, immediately wipe stains or spills on your vinyl floor.

2. Use cleaners suitable for vinyl floors. There are a lot of vinyl floor cleansers available depending on the stain. So better go for it as any ordinary cleaning product might just leave your floor free from stain but not from damage.

3. If it’s a general house cleaning day for you and your family, make sure to avoid the use of abrasive cleaning tools for cleaning the vinyl floors. Think of it as a sensitive skin. When going for a vacuum cleaner, avoid attaching a beater bar as this can really damage the flooring.

Now that you have an idea how to clean your vinyl floor properly, are there other instances when you can still damage your vinyl floor? Actually, there are still a few things to watch out for. Given for example, you have just bought an unfurnished house with vinyl flooring. Chances are the damage would come from the friction of moving your appliances around the house. As much as possible, avoid pushing your stuff around and give it a lift. If the weight is too much for you, a helping hand can always be pulled out somewhere. Is there still a need to lift any appliance that has small rollers or wheels on it? As much as possible, lift it too. Rollers are a big contributor for vinyl floor scratches and can even leave a mark or hard to remove stain.

Appliances are not the only ones who can bring about damage to your vinyl floor. If most of the time you have guests coming in, chances are, they become a contributing element to the damaging and staining of your vinyl floor. These would mostly come from the dirt that is on their shoes or maybe on your own shoes even. To prevent this from happening, place a mat on entrance doors where usual traffic occurs. It is in this way that damaging dirt from shoes become less harmful for your vinyl floor.

Learning about these preventive measures and cleaning procedures for your vinyl floor can save you up a lot from having frequent repairs, replacements, and even painstaking cleaning jobs.
