I should add, my house is about 15 years old. I’ve been there almost 2 years. The siding on the house is falling off. I think it is glue and sawdust.

As many of know there are times when it becomes necessary to replace the vinyl siding that is on the outside of our homes. At these times we will try to match the existing siding that we have or we will install brand new vinyl siding instead. For both of these options it is necessary to know what the vinyl siding cost is like.

In general vinyl siding is considered to be cheaper than the other types of siding. You can usually buy the vinyl siding that you want at about $ 4 a square foot. The other types of siding on the other hand can cost as much as $ 8 and more. This vinyl siding cost is just what you have to pay when you are buying the siding.

Once you have bought the amount of siding that you want to install the next step is for the professional or yourself to handle the task of getting the vinyl siding up. In this phase the setting the vinyl siding is also low in cost. To find what this vinyl siding cost is you will have to figure in the fees for the people who are installing your vinyl siding.

The great fact about vinyl siding is that it is not that difficult to install. For this reason you should find that the installation fee and the contractors fee to be low in price. Regardless of this fact you should still get the estimate from your vinyl siding contractor to find what you will be charged for.

Since vinyl siding is known to be very affordable you should make sure that you have the full amount of vinyl siding that you want. There are some great advantages that you can find with vinyl siding. Unlike different types of siding you will not have to paint the vinyl siding for you to have a rich looking exterior wall.

In the vinyl siding since the color is deep baked in there is no need to paint, stain, or varnish the siding. Since there is no need for you to paint the vinyl siding this too can help reduce the vinyl siding cost.

As with most siding products you will find that vinyl siding is perhaps the best option for those of you who want to have a home with wood exterior walls. Since the vinyl siding cost for materials and the installation is very low you should see which of the many vinyl sidings that you want to buy for your home.

PVC cladding can offer benefits that are not available from other cladding materials. Aluminum, fiber cement, stucco, stone and timber are the other materials used for wall claddings.

One major benefit is cost. Wall cladding cost includes materials, labor and finish during installation, and maintenance requirements thereafter. PVC cladding is typically designed with ease of installation in mind, with consequent savings in labor costs. PVC does not need any finishing like painting. These factors make installation of PVC claddings the lowest cost option.

PVC cladding also does not need much maintenance. Washing with water and a mild detergent can make it look like new. It does not degrade by exposure to UV light, and can even filter UV light while letting in light to interiors (where PVC is used in translucent curtain walls etc).

Environmental Aspects

PVC is a plastic and like all plastics, it is mostly not recyclable. New PVC scrap and cuttings can be recycled, while used material might be used as core (with a coating of new plastic) in panels.

On the other hand, it does not cause air pollution like painting and does not use as much energy as aluminum.

PVC is Hygienic, Versatile and Workable

PVC cladding does not accumulate difficult-to-remove dirt. Any superficial dust can be washed off. It does not result in significant condensation and does not shed particles to any significant degree. Any surface water can be easily wiped off or dried out.

PVC is a preferred material for cladding walls in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, diaries and such establishments where hygiene is important. PVC cladding makers typically take care to conform to the hygiene standards prescribed in relevant regulations.

PVC is versatile and can be produced to incorporate different properties needed for different requirements. Colors, heat resistance, resistance to chemicals, fire resistance, insulation properties etc can be controlled while making PVC sheets. This makes it possible to select the right kind of sheets for different environments.

PVC is a workable material that can be bent and cut to meet needs during installation. The sheets are often designed to enhance such workability. This feature makes it easier to cover walls completely and neatly using PVC cladding.

PVC Cladding is Great Looking and Easy to Install

With a range of colors, patterns and smooth or matte surfaces, PVC cladding can provide the kind of look you prefer. They can be selected to suit special themes and produce different kinds of decorative effects.

PVC cladding systems typically come with profiles and trims that make them easy to install. Panels might be designed for flush interlocking, and to hide fasteners such as nails used to fix them to walls.

Conclusion

PVC cladding is great on many counts. They are hygienic and can create pleasing interiors. Their properties can be tailored to meet special needs like resistance to heat, chemicals, fire and UV light. PVC is a workable material that can be bent or cut to suit local needs.

It is easy to install PVC cladding systems. They are typically designed to fit flush, with interlocking panels and other devices, and come with finishing accessories like profiles and trims. They can even be designed to keep all fasteners invisible and behind the scenes.

Many home owners are used to using the standard vinyl siding on their house, but there are actually many choices out there. Choices that would enhance the aesthetics and curb appeal of your home and increase its value.

Exterior wood siding has always been a favorite choice for siding in the US and Canada. Whether it is vertical siding like board and batten, or horizontal siding like shingles, shakes and clapboards, there are a few grades and species that are more commonly used for all applications.

Cedar is the premiere of all the woods used. This is because of its durability, very light weight and resistance to decay. Cedar lap and gap siding or board and batten siding, is made from cedar indigenous to North America. It is one of the North American Softwood species of wood, which include Western Red Cedar, Alaskan Yellow and Inland Red. You can order your cedar siding in a variety of sizes, grades and patterns, making it perfect for most siding applications. The other exterior wood siding options available are Pine, Spruce and Fir.

Vinyl siding is the most popular type of siding used. It is an attractive, durable solution eliminating painting and maintenance concerns, ensuring the aesthetics of your home is kept up for years to come. There are several choices available, such as insulated vinyl siding and vinyl log siding to name just a few, but there are many more. Many more vinyl siding colors, styles and accessories to create that unique look for your home. Installing your vinyl siding is easily done through any home improvement store like Home Depot.

If you’re the kind or person that have weathering or pests concerns, fiber cement siding is the right choice for you. This type of siding is 90 percent cement and 10 percent cellulose fiber, resisting harsh weather conditions, fire and pests. It comes in various styles, patterns and colors, and the HardiPlank lap siding brand is backed by a 30 year non-prorated, limited, transferable warranty.

Masonite siding offers a great alternative. Many homeowners choose Masonite siding because it looks like natural wood without the troubles. It is synthetically constructed from a mixture of wood fibers, wax and other resins, and because of its strength, there’s no swelling, blistering or shrinking. Masonite’s main advantage is it’s less expensive than lumber and avoids the natural flaws that can occur in wood.

If you like the look of stone and brick, stone siding adds a different dimension to the aesthetics of your home. Choose from natural cut stone, cast stone or stone veneers. Stone comes in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes, and you decide if you want an entire stone siding installation done, or half way up the walls. Either way you can’t go wrong. It gives your home that grandeur look and feel.

A Note On Asbestos Siding

There are several reasons for removing asbestos materials from your home, the first and most important reason being you and your family’s health.

This is some really awful stuff and has proven to cause cancer and other lung related diseases. When asbestos is disturbed either by sawing, drilling, cutting or scraping, the fibers from the asbestos are released into the air and accumulate in your lungs. Asbestos removal is a time consuming and meticulous process and should always be left to professional asbestos removal companies. Asbestos can be found in siding, ceiling tiles, insulation, dry wall tape and compound, roofing, flooring (especially linoleum and vinyl), paints, plasters and other building materials.

The good news is, asbestos cannot be found in materials before 1980 due to a ban from the EPA. Each year, more and more is being removed from homes upon discovery, so before you go tearing down your walls or prying off the siding from your house, you or your contractor need to make sure there isn’t asbestos harboring underneath.

There are many options of siding for your house to choose from that many home owners are unaware of. The exterior of your house is just as important as the interior.
