My insurance company wants to replace the vinyl siding on one side of my house and re-set the rest?

the problem is its older siding and its faded quite a bit. its way darker behind the laps. My question is “when you re-set the siding will all the pieces of siding that used to be lapped be seen now and if so will the insurance company just re-rap the house?
