Will Titebond II (weatherproof) work? I have a 1928 home and am trying to duplicate one of the original exterior window sills to go on a new window. I need to glue a couple of 5/4 pieces together to get the right thickness and I want it to last. The originals have redwood but it’s old growth I believe and more stable than what I can find now in redwood or DF. Correct me if I’m wrong there. Plus I have only two attaching points to work with on either side of the window so I chose the fiber cement product for it’s stability. Nothing on James Hardie’s site says what can be used to glue it with though.

Thanks

This article emphasizes on the negative aspects of wood siding and vinyl siding and suggests a middle path – James hardie siding. It made of wood, but is not wood. Sounds interesting? Read on to find out more about this new form of siding.

James Hardie is a leader in the manufacturing and development of technologies, materials and manufacturing processes of durable building materials. They have been one of the largest research and development facilities devoted solely to fiber-cement technology. They have been introducing new products and streamline manufacturing which has fueled their growth as the fastest-growing siding manufacturer in siding manufacturing.

Jamie Hardie: Unlimited creativity

Whether you’re building a new home or remodeling, James Hardie siding provides low maintenance, but unlike vinyl, doesn’t sacrifice the beauty and character of wood. James Hardie siding resists rotting or cracking and it resists damage from rain and hail. Best of all, James Hardie siding is non-combustible, with a limited, transferable warranty for up to fifty years. No wonder it’s protecting over 3.5 million homes in North America alone.

James Hardie sidings are available in a wide range of home siding products and styles are better than wood and vinyl and backed by over hundred years of research and technology. Provide expert service before, during, and after your siding installation.

Advantages of Hardie Siding

James Hardie siding looks and feels like real wood, but thanks to fiber-cement technology, their siding doesn’t have the durability and maintenance problems associated with wood. That means your projects will stand out and your artistic vision will endure. Plus James Hardie sidings come in a variety of profiles and textures, including lap and shingle, that will help bring your design to realization. With all these benefits, you can see James Hardie siding is the only siding that can ensure you bring to life the art in your imagination. For more info see http://www.homesidingreview.com/Hardwood_Siding on siding hardboard siding.

Also, wood siding is prone to rotting and decay. Unlike James Hardie siding products, one will have no problem with such issues. Therefore, James Hardie siding products are much more durable and last longer than any conventional siding technique. The proof of this is that over three million Amerian homes have this siding installed in their homes.
