Shingle Roof and Constructing a Dormer (Part 2)

March 9, 2010 by

The roofing and dormer construction is nearly complete. The window is in! All that’s left now is the exterior finish of vinyl siding, and a whole lotta cleanup to deal with the mountain of shingles, tar paper, and wood scraps. In this short video a small, furry animal is sent packing and we subject viewers again to some really bad dancing. If ya gotta work, might as well have some fun doing it. This is not necessarily a How-to. It just goes to show ya that the average handyman type guy can do this! Want to see Part one? check out: www.youtube.com

Do you guys work in the construction business?

How long did it take you from start to finish to do the job?

There are two small bedrooms upstairs in what used to be attic space – The dormer opened up the narrow hallway between them and the window really brightened up the stairwell. It only added maybe 40 or 50sqft? – enough for a small desk, perhaps.
