How to prepare logs and log siding for stain using a pressure wash. Eliminate those black water and soil stains. DIY log home maintenance from www.logcabindirectory.com
after applying the stain do you need to put anything on to protect the logs or does the stain already do that?
3″ – 5″ inches away? I don’t even use one regularly but I would go with about a foot or so away, gradual take off of stain, maybe hit it twice. Just a thought.
You should use better stain. Sikkens is the best. I’ve been in our log home for eight years and we’ve never had problems with stain. We got our beautiful home from Golden Eagle Log Homes and we are very satisfied and taken care of.

I am thinking of renting a hydraulic lift to do my place as well. It’s the north side of the house and doesn’t see much sun or weather, so I won’t have to do it often.
Man, maintaining a log home sure is a lot of work!
Great video and good demonstration
Remeber, you get what you pay for. Would you let a mechanic do a heart transplant? Leave the skilled trades up to the professionals to get the job done right the first time so you dont’ have to strip everything off like this guy had to on his home.
thanks for the advice!
Great info. Have little experience with pressure washers and need to use one.
I haven’t used a pressure washing machine and did not know it could damage the wood. Good advice and well done. Thanks.
