i’m a total beginner with cement, and I need help please!?

I am preparing to do an eagle scout project, where I am pouring four 16ft by 10ft bleacher pads and one 18f by 5 ft sidewalk and sadly I could not find a cement for dummies. The side walk will be driven over with a large truck filled with dirt because the place that im doing it for want to resurface their baseball field. Money is too big of a problem either. So finally, my questions are: How deep should each for these be? Do any require dirt/sand under? Fiber mesh or wire for any? and basically any other advice you might think would be helpful for me. Thanks!

  1. SlapStickBilly says:

slab should be 4 iches thick, you can use a mesh, depends on codes where you are for outdoor, non-structure slabs. The ground should be compacted as much as you can, you might have to purchase a tamper to do this. A layer of sand is a good idea, and may be required, depending on the soil, and local codes.

and good job on almost being an eagle scout.

  2. Dan the brick man says:

pour it 6 in. if they are going to be driving trucks over it…put a good stone base under it and use mesh and order a 4000 lb. mix…have them add air
