Can you stain fiber cement siding to look like wood even more?

My husband and I are going to use pre-primed fiber cement siding on our home. Can you wood stain this product? The painter we hired is having a hard time with it showing drips and brush marks.
no it will not take a stain it is pre primed for paint congratulations on a great product though
